Along with everyone else in the world, we’ve been watching the news regarding the spread of COVID-19, looking to how it will impact our own lives, specifically the planned Seaprog Festival in June. We are carefully watching the situation in Washington state and remain committed to staging the festival if at all possible. If circumstances arise that jeopardize this, we intend to do right by our artists, attendees, and the community at large. This has never been a money-making enterprise, and the health and well-being of all involved is much more important than ticket sales. Music is important, but life is even more important. As of now, in early March, it is far too early to know what the situation will be in June, so we have to live with uncertainty for the time being. We intend to be fully open and transparent about any changes in plans that might arise, but for now, we urge everyone to heed the advice of medical professionals and take care so we can all get through this. Thanks for your continued support, and we hope to see you in June!
Seaprog and Substation present…
Seaprog is proud to partner with Substation to bring you the first of what we hope will be many “Seaprog Presents” events. On Thursday, April 11, we’ve got three Seaprog veteran bands scheduled to play a show.
Moraine (2013, 2018) is one of the best known progressive bands in the Northwest, and (obviously) no stranger to our stages. But even if you’ve seen them before, it’s worth catching them now. They’ve got new material, and are fresh off their successful shows opening for the legendary Soft Machine.
Fang Chia (2014) is an eclectic group from Tacoma that combines rock, jazz, electronics, and more into a unique sound all their own. You never know what this band is going to come up with next.
Clearly Beloved (2018) was one of the highlights of last year’s festival, with their catchy, clever, artistic take on progressive folk rock. They don’t perform very often, so don’t miss this chance to catch them on stage.
For quite a few years now, the Substation has been one of Seattle’s best venues for live music, presenting a wide range of artists from many genres. Be sure to check out the Facebook event page for more details and to RSVP.
Marbin joins the 2019 lineup
Seaprog is delighted to announce one of our headliners for the 2019 festival (June 7-9): incandescent instrumental quartet Marbin!
A high-octane progressive jazz-rock band based in Chicago, Marbin has a unique story that stands out in today’s music world. Taking a do-it-yourself approach, Marbin started touring extensively in 2011, bringing their original instrumental music to every part of the United States. Through word of mouth, Marbin has gained the attention of thousands of devoted fans all over the world, and has sold tens of thousands of albums. Marbin has released seven albums on MoonJune Records and their own Marbin Music imprint: Marbin (2009), Breaking the Cycle (2011), Last Chapter of Dreaming (2013), The Third Set (2014), Aggressive Hippies (2015), Goatman and the House of the Dead (2016) and Israeli Jazz (2018). Marbin regularly plays in clubs all over the US and in jam and jazz festivals around the world.

Seaprog 2018 Dates Set — June 1 – 3
The dates are set — Seaprog will happen again on the first weekend of June, 2018. We’re working on getting some artists lined up and will make announcements as soon as details are nailed down.
Four weekends of amazing music over the course of the last five years presents the promise of more great things to come. Thanks to all who have supported us, especially those who have attended multiple times.
And once again, heartfelt thanks to the management and staff at both the Columbia City Theater and the Royal Room, all of the artists who graced us with their performances, and the volunteers who made it work.

Seaprog 2017 features Jack o’ the Clock and Zero Times Everything
Seaprog is thrilled to announce the majority of the 2017 lineup! California will be represented by the amazing Jack o’ the Clock, a Bay Area band with a unique sound that has been garnering praise for several years, with their latest album gracing many Best of 2016 lists. And we’ll have a Seaprog first with the audio-visual show of Zero Times Everything. This band combines innovative electronics and visual presentations into the kind of performance we’ve yet to experience on our stage.
But once again, our focus remains on highlighting the talent available in the Northwest, with bands representing Seattle (Omni, Paraeasthesia, Pinto Wagonfire, Moon Letters), Portland (Human Ottoman), and Bellingham (Ibex).
