Seaprog 2017 features Jack o’ the Clock and Zero Times Everything

Seaprog is thrilled to announce the majority of the 2017 lineup! California will be represented by the amazing Jack o’ the Clock, a Bay Area band with a unique sound that has been garnering praise for several years, with their latest album gracing many Best of 2016 lists. And we’ll have a Seaprog first with the audio-visual show of Zero Times Everything. This band combines innovative electronics and visual presentations into the kind of performance we’ve yet to experience on our stage.

But once again, our focus remains on highlighting the talent available in the Northwest, with bands representing Seattle (Omni, Paraeasthesia, Pinto Wagonfire, Moon Letters), Portland (Human Ottoman), and Bellingham (Ibex).

First “Seaprog Presents” concert slated for 28 Jan 2016

In the first of a number of one-off events presented by Seaprog during the off-year before the festival returns in 2017, Seattle instrumental avant-rock stalwarts Moraine return to their favorite local venue in the company of two formidable festival favorites, Nosretep and Super Z Attack Team.

Join us at the Columbia City Theater on Thursday 28 January, 2016. And make sure you RSVP to the event on Facebook while you’re at it.

Of course, you’ll remember Moraine from their 2013 headlining slot. The other two groups played in the front room (Super Z Attack Team in 2014 and Nosretep in 2015), so they’ll get a chance to play the main stage this time.

Seaprog 2015 kicks off!

We appreciate all the enthusiasm for this weekend’s show and we hope to see you in Columbia City throughout the weekend – but don’t forget tonight’s fine program at the Royal Room with three fine artists: Panther Attack, Northern Cantrips and Isthmusia. We will have band merchandise, t-shirts and posters available at the merch table, and single day and weekend passes for sale too. There is no cover, great food and a fine bar. Don’t miss a great Friday night of progressive music!

Your ticket to outer space awaits

As the days tick down to zero (Seaprog Day Zero, that is), excitement is mounting here at Central Committee Headquarters. Our spartan accommodations are plastered with Nik Turner posters to get us in the mood for some epic space travel on Sunday night. And for the first time in the history of this prog festival, an actual Mellotron will take the stage. That’s a pretty significant milestone, and we’re thinking we could probably get away with just setting it up on the stage and having everyone file by reverently. But no, it’s going to get played!

And MoeTar! Have you watched their videos yet? Amazing stuff, and we’ll get to see it live right before our eyes.

Getting really psyched for Debora Petrina too. Make sure you watch her new video for a taste of what’s to come.

Don’t for a moment think it’s all about the headliners from out of town. From the beginning, one of our goals in staging this festival is to show Seattle what an incredible amount of creative music is being made right here in the area. General Mojo’s, Johnny Unicorn, Panther Attack, Pink Octopus… they all present music in a wide variety of styles, often in venues that don’t do them justice. We aim to change that. You can see great music without having to deal with drunken guys looking for hookups.

Seaprog 2015 takes a cosmic turn with Nik Turner

We can now announce the Sunday headliner for Seaprog 2015. One of the founding fathers of progressive space rock, Nik Turner (sax, flute, vocals) will psychedelicize the Seaprog stage with a specially assembled cast of Seattle creative music luminaries, including electric violinist Alicia DeJoie (Moraine), legendary Seattle musician/producer Jack Endino (Earthworm, Skin Yard), synthesist Ffej (Tempered Steel), drummer Jack Gold-Molina (Spectral Waves), guitarist Dennis Rea (Moraine), Steve Fisk on Mellotron, and others TBA. This cosmic collective will perform tracks from throughout Nik’s career, including classics by Hawkwind, Space Ritual, Inner City Unit, Sphynx, and Space Fusion Odyssey. Nik Turner & Flame Tree will headline the Sunday 8/9 roster.
