Seaprog 2015 dates re-set

SEAPROG 2015 UPDATE: After initially setting our dates for 2015, it was discovered that the Columbia City Blues Festival is set to take place that same weekend; therefore, to avoid conflicts, we’ve rescheduled Seaprog 2015 to August 7-9. Apologies for the false alarm, but we were unaware of the conflict at the time; the new dates will remain firm.

Seaprog 2015 dates set

We’re happy to announce that the third edition of Seaprog will take place on August 14-16, 2015. After careful consideration, it was decided to move the event to later in the summer to avoid clashing with many competing events on Seattle’s crowded summer calendar. Note that we are not yet fielding submissions at this early juncture but will announce the call in due time. Greatly looking forward to another memorable weekend of adventurous music!

Seaprog 2014 is history!

A happily exhausted Central Committee sends our deepest thanks and love to all the musicians, listeners, volunteers, and venue staff who made Seaprog 2014 an idyllic world within a world — the music was thrilling from start to finish and provided all the proof one needs that the Northwest’s progressive music community is in rude health. A special shout out to our distinguished visiting artists, who truly outdid themselves on the Columbia City Theater stage. We’re especially amazed at the generosity of attendees from Virginia, Maryland, Utah, Los Angeles, the SF Bay Area, Vancouver and Nelson, B.C., Eugene and Portland, OR, and Tacoma, Port Townsend, and Olympia, WA — so grateful that you made the trek! Now for some rest and recovery; future plans will be revealed in due time. Wishing you all a splendid summer!

Seaprog 2014 kicks off tonight!

(deep breath) Here we go! Looking forward to seeing your shining countenances at Seaprog 2014, starting tonight at the Royal Room. We’re certain that the weekend’s musical offerings will be a savory treat, but equally important, it’s always a joy spending time with such a marvelous community of like-minded people. Thank you, musicians and listeners, for showing Seattle that there is indeed strong support for progressive music — let the fun begin!

Seaprog 2014 scheduling note

It has come to our attention that the Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon will be passing through the area near the Columbia City Theater on Saturday. Checking out the official listing of road closures, Rainier Avenue S will be closed from Martin Luther King, Jr Way to S Alaska St from 6:00 to 10:30 in the morning. So all should be clear by the time music-hungry fans make their way to our Saturday events. See you all then!
