Several members of the Central Committee recently got a tour of the Rainier Arts Center, which will be the home of our inaugural Cascadence event on June 14. We’ve got Gong and Khu.éex’ lined up for the show (in case you missed our announcements), and tickets are on sale now.

It would be an understatement to say we were pleased with what we saw. The RAC is a lovely theater with proper seats and a spacious stage where there will be plenty of room for our performers to be comfortable and play their best. The sound system and the lighting are both modern and top-notch for a venue this size.
There’s a large room downstairs, and we’re working on plans to utilize this space as well.
We’re really looking forward to having in an event that’s more like a proper theater than a bar — we’re been to lots of great events in bars, but for a full slate of amazing performances, it will be nice to sit comfortably and enjoy without being jostled by other attendees.
The RAC brings us back to Columbia City, our stomping ground of many years, and it’s an easy walk to a number of restaurants and bars should you be in need of refreshment. And PCC is right next door if you fancy a sandwich or the like.
